Project Overview
Summary
This mobile UX/UI project was created for the Birds of Australia touring exhibition -  a digital installation presented on the STORYBOX - a 3D digital storytelling cube.
The digital program features a 12-minute video sequence, taking the audience through the Birds of Australia illustrations created by a team of artists led by John Gould in the 19th century, together with First Nations knowledge and storytelling on Australia's bird life.

The mobile UX/UI was created to accompany the main animation sequence as an additional way to engage the audience. The audience can scan a QR code on the STORYBOX to activate the mobile experience. Mobile pop-up content is triggered by video content playing on the main sequence.
Role: UX/UI (Junior Interaction Designer at Esem Projects)
Work period: September - October 2022
Tool: Figma
The Rationale
The main video sequence was divided into 5 sections: Intro, Connection to Country, Discovering Gould, The Art of Seeing, and Endangered Birds. During each section, pop-up content mirroring the main sequence would appear on the phone, while also allowing the audience to find out more information related to each section via call-to-action (CTA) points. After the main video ends, the 6th section allows the audience to further explore on mobile via an interactive grid of pre-selected birds.

This narrative journey map illustrates the focus of each section of the main sequence and identified the call-to-action (CTA) points on the accompanying mobile experience
